Entrepreneurship and Inclusion: A Project for a Sustainable Future
Updated: Apr 2, 2024
In recent years, migrations have taken on a pivotal role in the global agenda, emphasizing their significance in the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In response to significant migratory flows, governments in 2016 adopted the New York Declaration, strengthening international cooperation on migration and forced displacement. As part of this initiative, two collaborative agreements emerged: the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration and the Global Compact on Refugees.
In this context, an innovative project led by three European organizations—CARPOACE EUROPE SL, SOLIS SRLS, and PFE—aims to address the needs of migrants and refugees, focusing on promoting entrepreneurship as a pathway to socio-economic inclusion. This highly motivated project seeks to improve the quality of life for migrants in the European Union and proposes strategies to enhance entrepreneurial skills among educators and migrants alike.
How the Project Addresses Needs:
1. Development of Entrepreneurial Competencies:
Innovative tools are proposed to enhance entrepreneurship competencies among educators and migrants, providing support for the development of entrepreneurial ideas.
2. Non-formal Learning:
The acquisition of entrepreneurial skills will take place through non-formal learning methods, incorporating digital tools and face-to-face training.
3. Informal Network of Educators/Trainers:
The project aims to establish an informal network of educators and trainers working with adult immigrants, sharing knowledge and experiences to improve the quality of entrepreneurial education.
4. Overcoming Specific Barriers:
Recognizing the barriers faced by migrant entrepreneurs, specific support measures will be implemented to overcome obstacles such as linguistic, cultural, and financial barriers.
5. Awareness of Social Entrepreneurship:
The project addresses the lack of awareness of business principles and social entrepreneurship, especially in the context of businesses led by immigrants.
6. Integration of Business Education:
Acknowledging the lack of integration of business education in the educational system, the project addresses this gap by providing essential skills for the modern business landscape.
7. Focus on Social Impact through Sustainability:
Building on entrepreneurship as a tool for social impact, the project promotes flexible approaches to achieve sustainability.
This project represents a significant step towards creating opportunities and effectively integrating migrants into host communities. By focusing on entrepreneurship, the goal is not only the individual well-being of migrants but also contributing to the development of communities and generating shared benefits. Entrepreneurship emerges as a powerful tool to build a sustainable future, promoting inclusion and prosperity for all.
