Agile Business Design for Elderly Adult Migrants
BUSThink
PROJECT
The project focuses on immigrant groups, specifically individuals over 50 with entrepreneurial interests, aiming to integrate them into the European business culture through innovative and collaborative learning methodologies. According to the European Commission website, as of January 2021, 447.2 million people lived in the EU, with 37.5 million born outside the EU (8.4%). In 2022, the net migration flow to the EU was 1.92 million people. According to Eurostat, in 2018, the average number of immigrants living in the EU was 5.4 per thousand inhabitants. The three countries where this project is being implemented surpass this average: Spain with 13.8, Belgium with 12.1, and Italy with 5.5 per thousand inhabitants, giving the project a representative character for the addressed theme. Additionally, the project aims to incorporate the digital dimension by developing learning activities supported on digital platforms for collaborative case study work and/or addressing specific real cases of interest to the target group.
Erasmus plus Project
The project aims to contribute to the empowerment of the two selected target groups and has the following objectives:
1. Identify specific opportunities and challenges for migrant entrepreneurs in each country.
2. Develop basic skills for small-scale business ventures among older immigrant adults through a case study-based learning process, using the "Agile Business Design" methodology ("BUSThink"), which will be specifically created for this project. These competencies will help older immigrants mitigate the risks of starting businesses in new contexts and scenarios.
3. Provide an entrepreneurial design process focused on attitudinal aspects and agile methodologies to achieve objectives within reasonable time frames and at the lowest cost.
4. Facilitate the acquisition of new skills and competencies by partner organizations to effectively train groups of older individuals, enabling them to successfully develop small businesses.
